Can't I just go directly to the airline to apply for a Flight Attendant positions?

Yes, but many more people apply for flight attendant positions than are accepted into the training program, and many more enter training programs than successfully complete the training. The competition over flight attendant careers is extremely tough. Our program is designed to give you the edge over your competition in the interviewing process. We also prepare you for the airline training that you must pass in order to become a Flight Attendant. The training is very challenging, especially for those with no previous knowledge of the industry.

Isn't the Travel industry still in decline since 9/11?

All indications are that the Travel Industry has reached or exceeded the levels of business and activity prior to September 11, 2001. All recent statistics and projections are for continued growth and expanded job opportunities. This is actually an exciting time for the industry as it moves toward a new era.

Aren't Travel Agents being replaced by the Internet?

Every travel website is operated by people that are in the travel industry. This could be a travel agency, an individual airline or group of airlines, tour operators, consolidators, cruise line organizations, and hotel operators. Many of our graduates are currently working with the companies. Some travel agencies only have a website while others are "click and brick" establishments with both a storefront and a website. Whatever kind of travel product you want to purchase or sell, it takes a travel professional to make it happen

Do you need a high school diploma?

No. You may be admitted to the Customer Service Program based on passing an Ability-to-Benefit test. We also offer on-campus high school diploma testing by Victory High School so that you can earn a high school diploma while attending courses at Academy Pacific. Having a diploma will greatly enhance your chances for travel industry employment.

Due to airline requirements, you must have your high school diploma to enter the Flight Attendant Program.

Does the school enroll foreign students?

Yes. We are authorized to issue M-1 Student Visas by the Department of Homeland Security. For information on the application process for foreign students, please contact us directly.

Is financial aid available?

Yes. The school offers Federal Financial Aid which includes both grant and loan assistance. Virtually all students qualify for some form of financial aid. The school also offers its own financing.

How long does it take?

Both the Customer Service-Hospitality and Flight Attendant Programs are 30 weeks long. Classes are five hours per day in either the morning or the evining.

When do classes start?

Academy Pacific operates year-round with classes starting at least monthly.

Do you offer online classes?

We do not offer online classes because our training is hands-on with a low student-to-teacher ratio. Many important aspects of the training cannot be adequately learned online.

Will I receive a travel agent license?

Travel agents are not required to have a license. A full service retail travel agency in California is required to have a license in order to issue tickets on the premises.

Do you have placement assistance?

We have a very successful placement department which has built an extensive network of industry-wide contacts. We often get first notice of available positions before the company advertises for the openings. Companies also visit the school to conduct group interviews.

Do you have housing available?

Academy Pacific does not have college-operated housing. However, there are many apartments in the Hollywood area that are within walking distance or close to bus or metro lines.

Does the school have parking facilities?

Because of our location in the heart of Hollywood, we cannot offer parking to day students. There is on-street parking and discounted parking on area lots. Evening students may park free of charge in our building's lot. We also offer student bus and metro passes.
